How We Can Help


The Campbell Burns Metabolic Trust can help the families of children, aged ten and under, who have been diagnosed with a metabolic disorder. We offer assistance through the awarding of grants (up to the value of £100). Families can apply for four kinds of grants from the Trust. Essentials


The purpose of this scheme is to provide a small grant of up to £100 to assist families with the financial costs of day-to-day life following a metabolic disorder. We can help with things such as:

  • Travel costs to and from hospital
  • Parking costs at hospital
  • Utility Bills
  • Some household bills
  • Council Tax

Experience


The purpose of this scheme is to provide a small grant of up to £100 to assist families with the cost of a day trip or social experience. Maybe you want to take your family to a theme park, maybe you want to share a memory-making experience. The Campbell Burns Metabolic Trust can help.

Food Preparation


The purpose of this scheme is to provide a small grant of up to £100 to help families purchase food preparation items, to assist them in their care of a child with special dietary needs. Items that can be purchased with this grant include (but are not limited to): breadmakers, food processors, blenders, fryers. Please note that the guidance document for this grant has changed. Jan 2015.

Emergency


The purpose of this scheme is to provide a grant to families to help meet the financial cost of unexpected, emergency situations not covered by the Essentials, Experience and Food Preparation Grant Schemes.

 

Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and families can apply for this grant more than once.
